Covid-19 has ensured that football was on standstill in Europe for more than two months.

With football having been suspended since March, games are due to resume in earnest, and UEFA have moved to make plans ahead of next season.

UEFA have confirmed that the 2020/21 Champions League group stages will begin on October 20-21 while the knockout schedule remains unaffected.

Surprisingly, the first qualifying rounds of the new season will be played on August 8 while the 2019/20 final is currently scheduled for August 23.
