Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic has impressed during his two-year loan spell with Italian side Atalanta.
Pasalic hasn’t featured for the Blues since joining from Hadjuk Split in 2014, and Atalanta sporting director Giovanni Sartori has now confirmed that the club will now take up the option to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal.
“We’re going to buy Mario Pasalic on a permanent deal from Chelsea,” Sartori told Sky Sport Italy.
“We want to use the buy option.”
Pasalic joined Chelsea on a €2.5 million deal in 2014 but failed to make any appearance for the Blues.
The 25-year-old enjoyed successful loan spells at Elche in La Liga, Monaco in Ligue 1, and AC Milan in the Serie A before joining Atalanta on loan.
Pasalic has hugely developed into a fine midfielder, but unfortunately, there’s no space for him in the Chelsea team.
