44-year-old African-American man George Floyd died after an incident with a police officer last week in Minneapolis.
The George Floyd case has gone global as the African American died after a police officer kneeled on his neck following his arrest in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Footage showed Mr Floyd pleaded: ‘I can’t breathe’, just before his death and Derek Chauvin, and a white police officer, has been charged with third-degree murder for his action.
Protests have erupted across the US in the following days as people demand justice for his brutal death, and many sportsmen around the world have sent their support too.
Chelsea have now released a powerful anti-racism message in a gesture of support following the death of George Floyd as the club also seek that justice be served.
An official statement on the club’s website reads: “Chelsea Football Club stands together with George Floyd and all victims in the fight against discrimination, brutality and injustice.
“As a club, we are committed to being a part of the solution, and we are joining our voice to all those calling for fairness, equality and meaningful change. Enough is enough. Together we are stronger. “
