News broke out on Tuesday that Chelsea have contacted Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of 20 year old midfielder Kai Havertz.

Havertz is under contract at Leverkusen until June 2022, and has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs.

Although Leverkusen have not received a formal offer for the 20-year old, Chelsea have also shown their intention in the transfer market by reaching out to Bayer Leverkusen for Havertz.

SportBild journalist Christian Falk confirmed Chelsea’s interest but admitted on social media that Chelsea aren’t the only club interested in Havertz.

The German reporter listed Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United as the five clubs to have shown interest in Havertz.

He wrote on twitter: “Because of many requests. True: Kai Havertz can imagine to play for @ChelseaFC. True: there are already talks. But: @ChelseaFC is not the one and only Club for Havertz”
