On Thursday night, reports emerged that RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner had agreed a deal to join Chelsea next season after the Blues triggered his £49 million release clause.
Chelsea have reportedly offered the 24 year old striker a £200,000 a week contract which will make him the second highest earner at the club behind Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Chelsea fans are eager to know when the striker will finally complete the move to Stamford Bridge.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law who mostly dishes out reputable information, has revealed that Chelsea could complete the deal anytime soon.
He wrote on twitter: “Leipzig are not listed on German stock exchange so they and Chelsea can officially announce a deal on Werner whenever is mutually beneficial. Could be next week, could be at end of Bundelsiga season or when Leipzig are out of the CL. Whenever it is, Werner’s on his way to #cfc”
According to Daily Mail, Werner’s agent Karlheinz Forster is understood to have held advanced discussions on Thursday and the finer details of the deal are expected to be ironed out with Chelsea by the start of the new week.
