Despite being keen on signing a striker during the January transfer window, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard turned down the chance to sign a Champions League winning striker.
According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Juventus made Mario Mandzukic available on a free transfer but Chelsea rejected the opportunity to snap up the striker.
Lampard turned down the chance to sign the Croatian striker because he didn’t fit in with his project at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard reportedly believed the 34 year old striker would not be able to match the intensity he demands from his players.
