Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer this season, and it’s the fifth time the Poland international has finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer.

Lewandowski ended the season with 34 Bundesliga goals – six more than RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has revealed that Lewandowski is the best striker in the world and rates him better than incoming Chelsea striker Timo Werner and other top strikers in Europe.

“To score 34 goals in one Bundesliga season is an incredible achievement,” Rummenigge told Bayern’s official website.

“Only ‘Der Bomber’, Gerd Muller, has ever scored more goals in one campaign.

“I’d like to congratulate and thank Robert Lewandowski. He is the best centre-forward in the world.”
