Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is a man in demand and has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea.
There has been some suggestions that Liverpool could hijack Chelsea’s deal for Havertz as revenge for losing Timo Werner to Chelsea.
According to Bleacher Report, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will love to work with Havertz, the Reds won’t pursue a move for the 20 year old Bayer Leverkusen star due to lack of funds.
Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly demanding upwards of £70 million for the transfer of Havertz, who is also being monitored by Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has given his verdict on Havertz.
“In my last appearances for the national team, I enjoyed training and playing with him,” Muller said.
“He’s an extremely good player, if not Europe’s top talent for his age. He has very good abilities.
“Of course at Bayern we want to have the best players with the best abilities.
“Unfortunately, I have no insight into the financial area and the sports director area.
“I don’t know what is planned and which budget can be allocated to transfers in the current situation.”
