Chelsea have showed good form since football resumed as the Blues have gone on to record three straight wins on the bounce, including a massive victory against Manchester City.
The Blues are looking good ahead of next season, with the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Despite the signings, former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has revealed that there’s a lot of work left to be done in the Chelsea team before the Blues can win the Premier League again.
Neville has revealed that Chelsea are yet to replace Cesc Fabregas as he believes that the Blues do not have that player in midfield that can play that pass behind the defence.
“Mason Mount is a really good player but probably he isn’t the type of creative player that makes the final pass,” Neville told Premier League Productions.
“Mateo Kovacic for me flatters to deceive sometimes. He’s good on the eye but does he play [that pass]?
“I think it’s the one area where you say can they get Christian Pulisic more central? That’s the one I’d be thinking about.
“If they’re going to win leagues you need some player that is going to be really special and that’s what Eden Hazard was for them.
“Cesc Fabregas was for them too and I don’t think they’ve replaced Fabregas since he left. I think a no10 is a position – Manchester United have gone out and bought Bruno Fernandes – it’s a position where you need to buy the best.”
