Chelsea and Manchester United were set to go head to head in pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho. However, after Chelsea’s signing of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, the Blues definitely won’t be involved in such high profile deal in a position that’s already secure.
Manchester United are still keen on Sancho, but reports claim that United may be unwilling to part with such astronomical figures that Dortmund want in exchange for Sancho.
Reports claim that United are now looking for cheaper options on the flanks, and according to ESPN FC, one of such cheaper option is Ivory Coast international Jeremie Boga, who left boyhood club Chelsea for Italian outfit Sassuolo in 2018.
Boga has impressed in the Serie A, and the 23-year-old is now attracting interest from many top sides in Europe, including Manchester United.
The report claims Manchester United have approached Boga to discuss a move, with Boga believed to be ‘interested’ in the project at Old Trafford.
Only recently, Boga confirmed he’s ready for a new challenge, whether in Italy or outside Italy.
“I am ready for a new chapter,” Boga told Telefoot in France.
“I have no regrets, as I made the right decision in leaving Chelsea. I think that was the best choice I could’ve made in the circumstances.
“Nothing is definitive yet. I spoke to coach Roberto De Zerbi to have a better understanding of the situation. I am ready for a new challenge, whether it is in Italy or abroad, but I could remain at Sassuolo too.
“I think Serie A football is suited to me and I am having the best season of my career so far.”
