Chelsea agreed a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner last week, with the 24-year-old set to sign a five year contract worth £200,000-a-week.
Following Chelsea’s deal for Werner, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is planning to entice a Chelsea player to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
According to The Express, Mourinho is planning to entice Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud to join Tottenham with Werner set to join Chelsea.
Having played back-up to Tammy Abraham for much of the season, Giroud is believed to have fallen down the pecking order following the imminent arrival of Werner.
Mourinho is a known admirer of Giroud and is keen on signing the striker this summer after being heavily linked with a move for Giroud in January.
Despite signing a one year contract extension last month, it is believed Giroud will push to leave the club this summer if he feels he won’t get enough playing time next season.
Giroud has scored 21 goals in 76 appearances for Chelsea since joining from London rivals Arsenal in 2017.
