RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is close to being a Chelsea player after the Blues agreed to pay his £49 million release clause.
The 24 year old striker has also been offered a five year contract worth £200,000 a week by the Blues.
According to Sport Bild’s head of football Christian Falk, Werner rejected three clubs in favour of joining Chelsea this summer.
The report claims the 24-year-old chose the Blues over Manchester City, Liverpool and Inter Milan after Chelsea boss Frank Lampard convinced him that he would play an important role at the club.
The 24-year-old has scored 31 goals and provided 13 assists in 41 matches across all competitions this season.
