A winger, a striker and a left-back are the three key areas Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was looking to strengthen, and the Blues boss has gotten two out of the three.
With Chelsea set to complete the Timo Werner deal, the next step for the Blues boss will be the left-back position.
Chelsea have other options in the left-back position, but the Blues main target is Ben Chilwell, and former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot believes that Chilwell is most perfect for Chelsea, while hailing his defensive ability and also his ability to whip in a good cross.
“He is an exciting player and that’s why it is normal that Chelsea are looking at him,” Melchiot said of Chilwell.
“What Chilwell is going through now is what all the best full-backs go through. It’s the same with Alexander-Arnold.
“People know they can deliver a ball when the time is right so what are they going to test you on? They are going to test you defensively.”
That will be a good signing for the team, but I still prefer Marcos Alonso to him.also buying him will make the left back position more competitive, for the both left back players.we can still convert them to left winger, because for the past (8) eight seasons we have not gotten any left-wingers.someone that can play like arjen Robben etc.i believe Alonso can fit in that position.
