Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, with the German international set to become the second highest earner at the club with a £200,000 a week wages.
While Chelsea fans are excited with the expected signing of the striker, it is believed the transfer is bad news for two Chelsea stars.
According to Daily Express, the expected arrival of Werner will be bad news for Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi.
Abraham has been Chelsea’s main striker this season since returning from his loan spell at Aston Villa, with the striker scoring 15 goals from 34 matches in all competitions.
With Lampard preferring to use one striker with three creative players around the striker, Daily Express expects Werner to be Chelsea’s main striker next season with Abraham dropping to the bench.
Daily Express also expect the signing of Werner to signal the end of Batshuayi at Chelsea. The report claims Abraham will drop to the bench as competition for Werner, with Batshuayi leaving this summer.
