Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on adding RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner to the Chelsea squad as he seeks to strengthen Chelsea’s attack for next season.
Chelsea billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is also reportedly ready to back Lampard’s pursuit of the 24 year old striker.
According to transfer expert Guillem Balague, Chelsea’s chances of signing Werner is low because the striker would only join Liverpool or remain at RB Leipzig for another season.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Balague said: “For Werner, who said no to other clubs, it’s Liverpool or staying for another season. So right now it seems like staying is an option.
“It’s not the time to position yourself in the market, the market may last much longer than people think, perhaps even October some clubs are asking for. So there will be time to negotiate anything.”
Good to hear that
