RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is on the verge of completing a transfer to Chelsea and there have been concerns his arrival could affect Tammy Abraham’s position in the starting XI.
According to former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch, Werner and Abraham can compliment each other.
“I think [Werner] can play off Tammy Abraham, I think he’s got that much ability,” the 39-year-old told talkSPORT.
“Obviously he can play through the middle but he definitely can play on the wings as well so I don’t think it will affect [Abraham] too much.
“I think Tammy’s done enough to warrant his choice as No 1 striker at the minute and I think they’ll complement each other if anything.”
Chelsea have reportedly offered Werner a five year contract with wages of £200,000 a week.
