Reports have linked Chelsea with a summer move for Brentford winger Said Benrahma, and reports even claim that the Blues have taken steps to confirm his signing.
The Algerian international has played a pivotal role for the Championship side this season, and his performances have given them a chance to qualify for the Premier League next season.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has admitted it is only ‘natural’ a player of Said Benrahma’s ability to be linked with a move to a club like Chelsea, although he insists the winger is happy with the Championship club.
Some reports have claimed that Benrahma to Chelsea is a done deal, but the Brentford boss has maintained that he hasn’t heard any of the such.
“I haven’t heard anything from my co-directors of sport,” he said.
“I don’t know anything and if I haven’t been told anything then I don’t think it’s true. It’s a rumour.
“He’s enjoying his football at Brentford and we’ve a big aim to go for so I think it’s easy to know this isn’t true.”
“No, he is fine,” he added when asked whether the speculation is likely to turn the head of Brentford’s prize asset. “It won’t affect him.
“If we’re doing well in the Championship – and you get it with any club that is doing well – players attract attention. That is natural.”
The 24-year-old is currently valued at around £34m.
