Chelsea put in a spirited performance to defeat Manchester United 3-1 in the FA Cup semi-final clash at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

United were favourites for this game with Chelsea rated as the underdogs, but the Blues outmatched Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to the dismay of onlookers.

United’s unbeaten run of 19 games came to a halt, and Bruno Fernandes who has been a revelation since signing up for United, has admitted his sadness at the defeat to Chelsea.

The Portuguese playmaker has admitted he refused to get carried away when pundits were hailing them win after win, and has now sent a message to his side to carry on despite the loss to Chelsea.

“We were not the best before and we are not the worst now!” Fernandes wrote on an Instagram post.

“We are really sad about the result and losing the chance to win the FA Cup, something we had hoped for!

“Now it is time to gather forces and fight for our goal in the Premier League.”
