Jorginho had a long wait for Premier League minutes since the restart of football, after he was named on the Chelsea bench to face Crystal Palace.
The 28-year-old has been left on the sidelines by Frank Lampard since the restart, and for the game at Selhurst Park, the injured N’Golo Kante was replaced by youngster Billy Gilmour.
Jorginho was only introduced on the 80 minute mark, and it has further increased the rumours about his exit from the club.
Jorginho came on late in the game and helped the Blues take control of the game yet again, as Crystal Palace kept pressuring late on.
Chelsea fans haven’t been pleased with Lampard’s treatment of the 28-year-old and has urged the Blues boss to return Jorginho to the team.
The hashtag #JusticeforJorginho trended on social media on the match day, as Blues fans made their feelings known to the boss.
Meanwhile, despite all the rumours surrounding him, Jorginho has insisted that he is focused on helping Chelsea finish the season well.
“I just have to stay focused on when the teams need me,” stressed Jorginho.
“There have been rumours but I haven’t heard anything, I am just focusing on finishing the season well with Chelsea and qualifying for the Champions League.”
