Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is a top transfer target for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard but his arrival at the club could be blocked by a Chelsea player.
According to Daily Express, Willian signing a new three year deal could block Kai Havertz’s arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer.
With Chelsea already signing Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, it is believed the Blues will be overloaded in attack if Willian stays and Havertz is signed.
Willian wants a three year deal to remain at Stamford Bridge but the board are only willing to offer the Brazilian a two year deal.
Willian is considering leaving Chelsea but if he lowers his demands and signs an extension it could see Chelsea drop out of the race for Havertz.
Willian recently gave an update on his contract situation at Chelsea.
The Brazilian said: “There are rumours about several teams that may be interested.
“For the time being, I have had no concrete proposal. But rumours always arise.
“I’m waiting. My agent hasn’t given me any news yet. I’m waiting for his call.
“I already had a conversation with the club a few months ago, even before this stop.
“Chelsea only offered me two years and I asked for three. My goal in the next contract is to sign for three years. So I haven’t had a deal with Chelsea yet.
“This is what I asked the club for, three years of contract. If you give me that, I’ll get the pen and sign the contract tomorrow.”
