The Premier League season for the 2019-20 campaign will end on Sunday, July 26, and the rest of the league will go on break.

However, Chelsea have an FA Cup final date with Arsenal on August 1.

The Chelsea players will be very occupied after the weekend of playing Arsenal, as the Blues will then face Bayern Munich in the second leg of the round of 16 Champions League tie.

The Premier League has on Friday confirmed the next league campaign will begin on 12 September, and will end on May 23.

The Premier League’s statement reads:

“Premier League Shareholders today agreed to start the 2020/21 Premier League season on 12 September.

“The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May.

“The Premier League will continue to consult The FA and EFL regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions.”

Having had two months break during the lockdown, the players might be given only a week off before resuming pre-season for the new campaign.
