Chelsea are keen on signing Kai Havertz during the summer transfer window, as the Blues are building a squad that can fight for the title next season.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of next season, and the Blues chief is also keen on signing Kai Havertz.
Rumours circulated that Granovskaia has allegedly attempted to compile a dossier of Bayer Leverkusen weaknesses that could help land Havertz.
However, Chelsea have issued a firm denial of such reports.
“We vigorously deny these suggestions; these claims are a complete fabrication,” a Chelsea spokesman told the PA news agency.
Marina Granovskaia is renowned for her negotiating skills, and oversees the club’s transfer strategy. She’s believed to be Roman Abramovich’s right-hand person, and is doing all she can to help secure the signing of Kai Havertz.
Rumours claim that she has been speaking to contacts in Germany, and seeking information on Leverkusen’s hierarchy that could help in Chelsea’s negotiations to beat over a transfer fee for the 21-year-old midfielder.
