Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was very bitter about the referee’s decision when Mateo Kovacic appeared to have won the ball off Sadio Mane in the first half.
Footage has revealed that the incident didn’t only happen between Lampard and Klopp, but Klopp’s assistants as well.
With Lampard having been enraged with the ref’s decision, Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders could be heard speaking to the fourth official, telling him that it was not a foul from Kovacic and Lampard should ‘sit down’.
Klopp as well got in and was annoyed with Lampard, wagging his finger and telling him not to speak to his coach in such a manner. However, the Chelsea boss continued to rage at Lijnders as Klopp could be heard saying, ‘Calm down, calm down’.
When Lampard then seemed to be walking away, Liverpool’s other assistant, Peter Krawietz, then aggravated the issue further by shouting, ‘Clear foul’.
Lampard responded immediately: “It’s not a f***ing foul. I’m not asking you. Shut up. Shut up!”
Klopp could then be heard shouting very loudly at Lampard, to which the Chelsea boss replied: “F*** off you as well.”
“You win the title and now you’re all giving it the biggen, f*** off!” shouted the Chelsea boss.
Lampard’s statement seems to have annoyed Liverpool’s squad in the stands and backup keeper Adrian can be heard saying, ‘No, no, calm, calm’.
Lampard then tells Klopp to tell his staff to ‘have some respect and sit down’.
To make matters worse, Alexander-Arnold netted from the resulting free-kick, and Ljinders was practically on the pitch celebrating.
