Former Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill who’s currently with Crystal Palace had a game to forget against his former side.
Leading to Chelsea’s first goal, Cahill suffered a hamstring injury and consequently fell to the ground, allowing Willian to freely run with the ball and cut back for Olivier Giroud to tap home.
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has told TalkSport he expects Cahill to be out for the rest of the current Premier League campaign after he suffered a hamstring injury in their 3-2 loss to the Blues on Tuesday.
“It is a hamstring injury. He felt his hamstring give way,” Hodgson said.
“He will be assessed and receive a scan. I would be very surprised if there is not a tear in the muscle.
“I would be even more surprised – with such a short period of time to play the season – if he gets back to be a part of the four matches we have left.”
