Chelsea have confirmed the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of the next season, and the Blues don’t seem to be done in the transfer market so far.

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud doesn’t feel intimidated by the signings but is rather positive, as he maintains that the competition will help the team.

“I think it’s always nice to reinforce the team with very good signings,” Giroud told Sky Sports.

“It has to be positive for every single player in the squad to step up and to give the best from ourselves to have fair competition.

“It’s good for the team, I take it very positively as extra motivation.”

Giroud has been banging in the goals since the restart, and he has gone on to thank the manager for trusting him.

He praised Lampard for having faith in him, as he added: “I just took the opportunity to give him back this confidence on the pitch.

“I just try to play my part and to finish the good job of the team.”
