Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has explained why Chelsea fans shouldn’t be too excited about the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

According to the Scot, there’s no guarantee both players will impress for the Blues despite their good reputation before joining Chelsea.

Souness claimed Alvaro Morata had a good reputation before joining Chelsea but struggled to impress in the Premier League.

Graeme told The Times: “Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech will be available for next season.

“Both come with good reputations but so did Alvaro Morata and he made no impression.

“Even Thierry Henry, one of the great overseas signings, took a season at Arsenal to adjust to the demands of the Premier League, so there is no guarantee that the Blues’ two new recruits will turn them into title contenders overnight.”

  1. This man should not be jealous of Chelsea and the players we signed. They will do better more than they did before.
