Without a doubt, Eden Hazard was Chelsea’s top dog before the Belgian was sold to Real Madrid for a club record fee.

It was believed that the Blues would struggle without the Belgian star and also under a managerial novice in Frank Lampard.

Fast forward to a year after his appointment, Chelsea are set to finish the season in top four and also have the chance to win the FA Cup, all without Hazard

Meanwhile, former Liverpool star Graeme Souness has hailed Willian as the best player in the current Chelsea team, and believes that the 31-year-old should be kept at the club.

“I think he’s their best player. He wants three years, they’ve offered him two – I’d be giving it to him. He doesn’t look like a player to me whose legs are going anytime soon. I’d be bending over backwards to keep him at this football club,” Souness told Sky Sports before the game at Anfield.

Willian has maintained that he’s waiting for the club to give him a three year deal and insists he’d sign the papers as soon as he’s offered the deal.

“There are rumours about several teams that may be interested. For the time being, I have had no concrete proposal. But rumours always arise. I’m waiting. My agent hasn’t given me any news yet. I’m waiting for his call,” Willian told Brazilian journalist Ale Oliveira on his Youtube channel.

“I already had a conversation with the club a few months ago, even before this stop. Chelsea only offer me two years and I asked for three. My goal in the next contract is to sign for three years. So I haven’t had a deal with Chelsea yet.

“This is what I asked the club for, three years of contract. If you give me that, I’ll get the pen and sign the contract tomorrow.”
