Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has switched over to a 3-4-3 formation of late, in order to solve Chelsea’s defensive issues.

The Blues boss played a three at the back system against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final, and it produced good effect as Chelsea totally dominated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. United’s only goal in that game came from a penalty.

However, the Blues were badly exposed against Liverpool, as the Reds won the game 5-3.

Lampard stuck with a 3-4-3 yet again for the third time in a row against Wolves, in our last Premier League game of the season, and the Blues recorded a good victory, keeping a clean sheet in the process.

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas is backing his former side to play three at the back against Chelsea and believes that the Gunners will be able to hurt Chelsea from their wide play.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: “The thing is, Chelsea have also been playing with a back-three recently and I don’t think they’re any better than Arsenal so the wide areas is going to be key.

“I’m delighted that Tierney has finally got fit and starting to look the real deal for Arsenal and I think that really that’s where Arsenal could win this: in the wide areas, with pace and pinning Chelsea back.”
