Chelsea defeated Watford 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, and the win pushed the Blues back to fourth place.
It was a great performance from the Chelsea squad, and Mason Mount was named man of the match.
Mount didn’t score a goal or make any assist, but he was named man of the match, and speaking after the game, the young midfielder admitted that he was surprised at being named man of the match.
Former Liverpool midfielder and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has revealed that Mount played a key role in the game and deserves to be man of the match.
Reacting to Mount not feeling he deserved the award, Jamie Redknapp said: “I think one of the reasons that Mason Mount did get man of the match is things like this [the pass for the first goal].
“His passes, the pace of that pass, sets this up. Nathan Chalobah tries to intercept it but because it’s so fast, it’s fizzed into him, it makes it difficult.”
