Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has been ruled out for the next three to four months through a knee injury.

This was confirmed by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Sheffield United.

Chelsea will also be without midfielder N’Golo Kante, who missed the victory over Crystal Palace.

With the Blues set to be without Gilmour and Kante for the game against Sheffield United, Lampard has called up 17 year old midfielder Lewis Bate from the academy.

According to Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella, Bate will travel with the squad for the game against Sheffield United and he could just make his debut against Sheffield United.

Bate is highly rated at the club and often trains with the first team.
