Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho was left dejected after seeing a key decision go against his side on a frustrating night at Bramall Lane.
Spurs suffered their 11th defeat of the season, as they were beaten 3-1 by Sheffield United.
Mourinho was disappointed after VAR ruled out a goal scored by Harry Kane, and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has reacted to the situation, admitting that the goal was wrongly disallowed.
Lampard said in his press conference: “I didn’t think it should have been disallowed. There have been lots of instances this season and they go for you and against you. When I listen to managers complain, I understand it because emotionally it’s really tough to take when decisions like that happen.
“I also have sympathy for the referees and the VAR officials in this case because there are rules that have been laid down. It was certainly one where common sense could have been involved but if the rule book states something then the handball is given.
“We need a big reflection at the end of the season. VAR has improved us in ways but there are ways to improve it and I think a collective sit-down at the end of the season with everybody – referees, managers, players, anybody involved in football that loves the game can have an input to try and get it closer to where we want to get it to.”
