Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award following Chelsea’s flawless results in the month of June, since the Premier League’s return to action.

In the month of June, Chelsea got good results with victories over Aston Villa and Manchester City.

However, despite being nominated for manager of the month, Lampard has revealed his displeasure, as the defeat to West Ham on Wednesday night has left him with a bitter taste.

Lampard said as he briefed the press on Friday: “I’ve still got West Ham in my head so I was slightly surprised but it’s a small thing to be proud of.

“These are not the huge, important things but it shows our good form – five wins in five in that period, and playing some good stuff.

“Obviously it was disappointing against West Ham, we know that but before that we’d been on a good run. It’s always a collective award because it shows more the work of players and staff included.”
