Despite bossing possession against West Ham on Wednesday, Chelsea were beaten by the Hammers 3-2.
West Ham had seen Tomas Soucek’s goal in the 33rd minute ruled out by VAR, before Willian calmly slotted in from the penalty spot on the 41st minute.
The Hammers got a late first half goal to level the scores and Michail Antonio scored after the restart to take the lead for West Ham.
Willian scored a stunning free-kick to level the scores 2-2, but Andriy Yarmolenko scored a late counter-attack goal that handed Chelsea a shock defeat.
Antonio who had a good game for West Ham, admitted that it was difficult for his side and that Chelsea play good football.
He said: “It was hard. They keep the ball so well. They play unbelievable football. They pin us in when they lose it, they press us straight away, so I’ve got to get on loose balls and try to keep it for the team.
“It was very hard, but we showed the grit we’ve got, the fight we’ve got and the determination we’ve got. We’re gonna keep going until the end and make sure we’re safe.”
