Christian Pulisic had a slow start to life for Chelsea, but the young American has been explosive in recent weeks.
At first, he struggled for game time as he couldn’t cope with the pace of the Premier League. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard showed some tough love to the American, and he was in and out of the team.
However, since the season’s restart, Pulisic has been one of Chelsea’s best players and has been very consistent, with some mouthwatering performances that have caused problems for defenders.
Winning penalties have come with ease for him since the restart, and he has helped with three goals and two assists since the restart.
Pulisic has now earned the trust of his manager and his teammates, and the 21-year-old has been pleased with his form.
“When I came in, you don’t know what to expect but I was working hard through it all and wanted to be on that field,” Pulisic told Sky Sports.
“I thought I had a few good games here and there. Maybe my confidence wasn’t fully there, I wasn’t fully ready for the whole thing.
“But I’ve just learned and taken every experience little by little throughout the season. I just want to continue to grow as a player. I’m feeling really good right now and my confidence is high and that’s most important.
“I feel more and more trusted by my team-mates, which is really important for me and it feels great.”
