Olivier Giroud has been in good form since the season’s resumption and scored a good goal with an awesome finish to put Chelsea in front in the 3-0 win against Watford.
Giroud seems to be Frank Lampard’s first choice striker at the moment, and the 33-year-old has hailed the Chelsea boss.
Giroud has hailed Lampard’s winning mentality as well as the relationship he has with the boss. Giroud has also thanked Lampard for giving him chances recently.
Giroud said after the game against Watford: “He just wants to win again and again, he’s a competitor. He has tried to give us passion and his great mentality, to always improve.
“It’s nice for me also because he told me he would give me a chance, and he did. I have a good relationship with him and I think we can do great things all together.”
Following Chelsea’s 3-0 thrashing of Watford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has warned his players to get used to playing under pressure ‘because it’s going to be tough all the way through’.
“Pre-West Ham, we could have gone third and we let ourselves down,” Lampard told Sky Sports.
“Today, there was a bit of pressure to get back to fourth and we produced – so get used to that pressure, whatever way it looks, because it’s going to be tough all the way through.”
