In his first season at the club, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has given a number of the club’s academy products the opportunity to shine.

The likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Fikayo Tomori and Callum Hudson-Odoi have been the more frequent names in the first team, while Billy Gilmour has also impressed.

Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright has named Mason Mount as the most outstanding of all the young players.

Interestingly, Wright rates Mount higher for his performance this season than Christian Pulisic who only peaked after the restart.

Wright told Match of the Day: “For me, Mason Mount has been the outstanding Chelsea youngster that’s kicked on.

“[Christian] Pulisic has to get a mention as well, but what Mason Mount’s done from the start of the season to now has to be recognised.

“I think he’s been absolutely magnificent for them.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
