Chelsea’s interest in Kai Havertz is definitely true, but there a number of things that are yet to be determined.
Will Chelsea meet the demands of Bayer Leverkusen? Will Bayer Leverkusen drop down their asking price? Any answer to these two questions will speedily move things between Chelsea and Leverkusen, as the player himself is keen for the deal to happen.
Sky Sports insider Kaveh Solhekol, has revealed that Chelsea won’t be willing to spend £90m on Kai Havertz, as he admits the deal could be sealed as Leverkusen have already been dumped out of the Europa League, if Chelsea pay up.
“Chelsea are prepared to spend big this summer but that doesn’t mean they will pay the £90m asking price,” Solhekol said. “Leverkusen are talking tough in public with their sporting director claiming that Havertz will stay unless their valuation is met.
“If Chelsea want Havertz as much as he wants them then the deal will be done after Leverkusen’s interest in the Europa League ends.”
Reputable reporter Fabrizio Romano, insists Havertz has ‘a total agreement’ with Chelsea.
However, ESPN’s Gabriele Marcotti, doesn’t think Lampard will pressure the club to sign Kai Havertz.
“I don’t think Lampard will pressure the club to say he needs Havertz now, not while they have more important positions to fill and other positions elsewhere.”
