Brentford missed out on promotion to the Premier League, after losing 2-1 to Fulham in the Championship play-off final.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with Brentford star Said Benrahma, and the Algeria international has been dubbed the new Messi by some.
However, Brentford manager Thomas Frank cut a frustrated figure after the defeat, and reports now claim that Chelsea can sign the Algerian star for a cheap, having missed out on Premier League football.
Thomas Frank has reacted to the rumours, and insists that it’s not part of his worries at the moment.
“I must say it’s not my biggest concern right now,” Brentford manager Thomas Frank said when asked about Said Benrahma’s potential departure, as quoted by London Football News.
“The reason I’m down at this moment in time is mainly for the fans, (owner) Matthew Benham and people who have been at the club for many years. They deserved so much to be in the Prem.
“I also care and believe so much in this group of players and I’m just disappointed that we’re not going to have the opportunity to attack the Premier League.
“Nobody knows what’s going to happen tomorrow. I just know one thing: we will have a very, very strong side going into the Championship next season.”
