According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are in a battle with Spanish clubs Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the race for Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico.
The report claims Chelsea have expressed interest in signing the 27 year old left-back with the Blues struggling to reach a deal with Leicester City for Ben Chilwell.
Chilwell is Frank Lampard’s number one target for the left-back position but Leicester’s £80million valuation of the England international has been deemed too expensive by the Blues.
The Blues are now looking at other left-back options following Leicester City’s stance on Chilwell.
Tagliafico, capped 25 times for his country, arrived at Ajax in 2018 from Independiente and has since emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after left-backs. He scored five goals and supplied five assists for Ajax last season.
The Blues are also interested in Real Madrid left-back Sergio Regulion, who impressed while on loan at Sevilla last season.
