Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer after losing faith in Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Several goalkeepers are on Chelsea’s transfer shortlist including Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, Nick Pope of Burnley, Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel.
According to Football London, Chelsea have been handed a boost in the race for Manchester United’s Henderson after Sheffield United agreed an £18.5 million fee with Bournemouth for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Henderson spent the last two seasons on loan at Sheffield United, who were also interested in keeping the goalkeeper for next season.
With Sheffield United now signing Ramsdale, Chelsea now face less competition for Henderson, should the Blues wish to make a push for the United goalkeeper.
Henderson is keen on leaving Manchester United this summer if he isn’t guaranteed he will be their number one goalkeeper for next season ahead of David de Gea.
