Chelsea have been linked with a move for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, and Leicester City has put an £80m price tag on the 23-year-old.
Chelsea are in dire need of a new left-back ahead of next season, as Frank Lampard will try to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson, is very highly rated in that position, and the Scottish International has named three world-class left-backs currently in the game, with Chelsea target Chilwell among the three.
“I think Alphonso Davies, already world class but he can only get better,” the Scotland international told BT Sport.
Alphonso Davies showed tremendous pace and skill in the Champions League game against Barcelona as he beat multiple Barca players to set up Joshua Kimmich for their fifth goal.
Robertson hailed Davies performance, and admits that he can’t do what the young left-back did.
“Don’t expect me to be doing that any time in a hurry,” Robertson added. “That was just incredible. It probably took five or six of them out of the game with one passage of play.
“Phenomenal player, somebody I enjoy watching and I think the whole world’s enjoying watching him at the minute and I’m not different.”
“Ben Chilwell I love watching in the Premier League,” the Reds left-back continued.
“Then I would say Jordi Alba, the more experienced one of the three I would say, maybe coming near the end of his career, but what a career he’s had,” Robertson said.
“Him and Marcelo probably took left-backs to a whole new level.”
