Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has called Chelsea crazy for letting Mario Pasalic join Serie A club Atalanta.
The 25-year-old joined Chelsea in a €2.5m move from Hajduk Split in 2014 without making a single appearance for the Blues. He completed a £13million move to the Serie A club earlier this year after spending stints on loan at Monaco, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow and Elche.
After watching the midfielder score in Atalanta’s 2-1 Champions League quarterfinal defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, Ferdinand called Chelsea’s decision to let the Croatian leave as “crazy”.
“Crazy, It’s crazy!” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“He was a Chelsea player for six years! They’ve just sold him for £12m.”
