According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Serie A side Fiorentina are in talks with the agent of Chelsea right-back Davide Zappacosta ahead of the new season.
Zappacosta spent last season on loan at Roma, playing just nine times due to a serious knee injury.
Roma had the option to make his loan deal permanent but opted against triggering the option, so the Italian defender is expected to return to Chelsea.
Fiorentina are reportedly hoping to sign Zappacosta on loan ahead of the new season and with the emergence of Reece James, Zappacosta will be keen on leaving Chelsea this summer.
Zappacosta has two years left on his Chelsea contract and if a sale appears to be impossible, a loan move would suit all the parties.
