According to Daily Mail, Championship side Stoke City are closing on agreement over a one-year deal for former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.
The 33 year old former Nigerian captain is a free agent after leaving Turkish club Trabzonspor in March by mutual consent.
Mikel held talks with Stoke boss Michael O’Neill during the week and is set to sign a one-year deal at Stoke – with his medical pencilled in for Monday.
Mikel made 249 Premier League appearances for Chelsea in an 11-year spell, which ended when he left Stamford Bridge in 2017.
He won the Champions League and Europa League, two Premier Leagues, three FA Cups and the League Cup during his time at Chelsea.
