Moussa Dembele was the star of the show, as he came on as a second-half substitute to wreak havoc against Manchester City, as Lyon sent City packing from the Premier League, with a 3-1 victory against the Premier League giants.
Dembele has always been linked with a move to Chelsea from his Fulham days as a teenager, but the Blues opted against singing him. He ended up signing for Celtic, where he impressed, before moving to Lyon in 2018.
Following his display against City, former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton, has blasted top Premier League sides, including Chelsea for not signing Dembele.
He said: “Delighted for Moussa Dembele. Another player developed in Scotland and stupidly shunned by Premier League clubs… he just knocked out moneybags Manchester City… when will clubs south of the border learn.”
Dembele responded to Sutton’s tweet and said: ‘Thank you Chris I appreciate it. The semi-final will be another battle but I’m use to it.”
Do you think Dembele would have been a good signing for Chelsea?
