Chelsea have been linked with a number of goalkeeper targets, among whom have been Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Nick Pope impressed for Burnley in the recently concluded season, and he was able to keep 15 clean sheets in the season, which has prompted interests from Chelsea.
However, former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson, has admitted that it would be difficult for Burnley to sell him, saying that it would only take a very good offer for them to depart with the 28-year-old who’s under contract at Turf Moor until 2023.
“Nick Pope has proved that he is a top-class goalkeeper this year,” former England number one Paul Robinson told Football Insider.
“His performances have been outstanding. Pope and Henderson have been the standout goalkeepers this year.
“It will be interesting to see if Burnley would let him go because Joe Hart has left so they would only have Bailey Peacock-Farrell who has not played this year.
“It would have to be a very lucrative deal for Burnley to think about letting him go because he has been so key for them this year.
“But you can see why the big teams are looking at him. His shot-stopping is outstanding and his presence in the box is a huge asset.”
