Chelsea signed Ben Chilwell for around £50m, as the Blues signed up the 23-year-old for around £50m.

Chilwell signed a five-year deal with Chelsea, and the England International has been backed to be at the top for the next ten years.

Former Sunderland and Leicester City striker Kevin Phillips, has even admitted that Chelsea got a good deal for a young quality fullback, who still has many years ahead of him.

“I think it is a good price for a young, talented England full-back,” former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips told Football Insider.

“He has got years and years ahead of him. I think it is smart business from Chelsea. Frank Lampard will have been delighted to have got him through the door.

“Knowing the kid, having worked with him, he has a fantastic attitude both on and off the pitch. It is a great signing and I am really looking forward to him settle in at Chelsea and play well.”

Meanwhile, Chilwell has admitted that he’s excited to sign for the club and is looking forward to playing in front of the Chelsea fans.

“I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club. I’m looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season,” Chilwell told the club’s website.

“I can’t wait to get started and hopefully it won’t be long before we’re playing in front of the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge.”
