Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri don’t seem to have a good relationship, and the two Italians achieved success at Chelsea, although Conte was the more successful of the two, having won the Premier League and FA Cup in his two years at the club.
Sarri left the Chelsea job at the end of 2018-19 season to join Juventus, and has won the Italian Serie A in his first year at the club. However, Antonio Conte did well with Inter Milan, leading the Nezzazuri to second place, and just a point behind Juve.
Rumours have been linking Conte with a return to the Old Lady, with some reports even claiming that Conte had enquired about Sarri’s job situation.
Conte has reacted vehemently to those rumours and is threatening to sue the media outlet who reported it.
“Regarding the article published today on Repubblica, I categorically deny the fact that I spoke with Juventus directors and players asking: ‘Are you going to sack Sarri?'” Conte said in response to the claims.
“I will sue those who wrote this article and the editor in charge of the magazine.”
He added: “I took on a three-year project with Inter and as I have always done in my life I will work hard and will fight with all my strength and with all that is in my possibilities to make it a winning project.”
