Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has been named Academy Player of the Year.

Gilmour was voted Academy Player of the Year following a successful season for the development squad which led to his debut for the first team.

Gilmour captained the development squad side on numerous occasions, starting 11 of the 18 PL2 games, scoring two goals and assisting for four of them as Andy Myers’ team clinched the title.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard handed him his senior debut in August in a Premier League game against Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge.
