Barcelona star Lionel Messi, is rated as one of the greatest ever players in the game, but there still remains the question of whether the Argentine would have been successful had he played in the Premier League.
Fellow Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain, who made the loan move from Juventus to Chelsea two seasons ago, has revealed how difficult it is in the Premier League, as he admits he suffered during his short loan spell with Chelsea.
Although Higuain expects Messi to shine in the Premier League due to his quality, he also admits it’s not a challenge that the Argentine will want to embark on.
“I suffered a lot in the Premier League and couldn’t adapt in those six months,” Higuain told Fox Sports.
“It’s nothing like LaLiga. Defenders kick the s*** out of you and nothing gets given, they don’t blow for free-kicks like they would in Spain.
“I don’t know how that would affect Messi. I don’t think he would suffer, since he is a player at another level.”
